Welcome to Melo!
Established in November of 2022, Melo Premium Cannabis is one of only
two recreational dispensaries located in the heart of downtown
Ishpeming, Michigan. Independently owned and operated, Melo was
founded on the premise that, as a consumer, you should not only know
where your cannabis is coming from, but also trust that the product
you’re getting is quality. That’s why our goal here at Melo is to
eliminate the disconnect between customers and growers through
attentive care, grower relationships, and a focus on the quality of
cannabis products.
We accomplish this by working directly with local growers who
implement sustainable production and harvesting methods to source our
cannabis and we believe transparency surrounding these relationships
is key to providing consistently superior experiences.
In addition to our passion for sourcing premium products, we are also
committed to providing the community with stellar customer service by
employing an energetic group of Budtenders who are dedicated to
learning and understanding each customer’s needs and personal tastes.
By being intentional with our interactions, we believe we can
cultivate genuine connections, which then enables our customers to
make more confident decisions during the purchasing experience.
Meet the Team
Co-Owner + Founder
In addition to Melo, Brice is also the founder and owner of Velodrome
Coffee Company of both Marquette and Ishpeming. Prior to holding the
role of CEO, he held a primary background in coffee roasting and small
business management in both Green Bay, WI, and Nashville, TN.
Outside of cannabis and coffee, Brice enjoys biking and canoeing with his
wife, Teagan, or working on house projects. He grew up in a small town
in northern Wisconsin and enjoys the slower pace Negaunee has to
offer, though you’re most likely to find him downtown Ishpeming on any
given day.
Front of House Manager + Director of Customer Experience
With a degree in marketing and management from Pennsylvania State
University, Josie has spent the years since graduation managing
multiple businesses and working in sales.
In addition to cannabis, Josie enjoys hiking with her dog, camping,
reading, cooking, and watching horror movies. Josie hails from a small
town just outside of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and hopes to see Ishpeming
and Negaunee continue to thrive through new businesses, residents, and
community outreach. You’ll likely find Josie smiling and waiting to
help you find your preferred products at Melo.
Back of House Manager + Director of Product
Josh has a background in production and warehouse management, and
in May of 2022, they relocated to Ishpeming from Fort Wayne, IN to be part
of the Melo team.
Outside of Melo, Josh enjoys reading, biking, video games, and going
on adventures with his partner and two kids. Typically used to living
in larger towns, Josh has quickly grown to love the small, tight-knit
community of Ishpeming, and is looking forward to watching it change
and grow over the coming years. Most days, you can find Josh
overseeing the back-of-house functions and helping out wherever they can
around Melo to ensure you end up with only the very best experience.
